Iranian PPRC (PP-R) pipe granules for hot and cold water pipes and fittings – MR230C and ZR230C, with datasheets and today’s rate for Pakistan.
Karachi rate lists quote PPRC as Polypropylene Random Copolymer. Both grades are prime, virgin PPRC dana for pipe and fittings, with the rate given CFR Karachi.
PP-R MR230C – Hot & Cold Water Pipe Grade
PP-R MR230C is a polypropylene random copolymer designed for hot and cold water supply systems and industrial water conveyance.
- MFR 0.8 – 1.3 g/10 min 230 °C / 5 kg
- Specific Gravity 0.89
- Process Pipe Extrusion
PP-R ZR230C – Pressure & Heating Pipe Grade
PP-R ZR230C is a high-molecular-weight random copolymer for pressure, heating and underfloor pipes.
- MFR 0.35 g/10 min 230 °C / 2.16 kg
- Density 0.90 g/cm³
- Process Pipe Extrusion
PPRC granules – buyer’s guide for Pakistan
PP-R, written PPRC in Pakistan, is a random copolymer polypropylene used for hot and cold water plumbing. Its long-term hydrostatic strength at high temperature, easy fusion welding and hygienic, corrosion-free surface have made PPRC the standard for domestic plumbing in new housing projects across Pakistan.
Compare PPRC grades
| Grade | Iranian producers | Melt flow | Density (g/cm³) | Best for | Datasheet |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| PP-R MR230C | Marun | 0.8 – 1.3 230 °C / 5 kg | 0.89 | Hot and cold water pipes and fittings | TDS PDF |
| PP-R ZR230C | Navid Zar Shimi | 0.35 230 °C / 2.16 kg | 0.90 | Pressure pipes for hot water and heating | TDS PDF |
How to choose
- Pipe or fittings: very low melt flow grades are used for pipe extrusion; fittings are often moulded from the same resin family for good weld compatibility.
- Pressure class: check the hydrostatic strength on the datasheet against the PN rating you produce (PN10, PN16, PN20, PN25).
- Colour: PPRC pipe in Pakistan is usually green, white or grey – add a compatible colour masterbatch.
Typical applications in Pakistan
- Domestic hot and cold water plumbing
- Housing societies and high-rise projects
- Heating and solar water systems
- Industrial water and compressed-air lines
Processing tips
- Typical melt temperature 200–230 °C; use a vacuum sizing tank.
- Keep cooling slow and even to reduce internal stress.
- Test samples of each lot for hydrostatic pressure before large production runs.
Market overview
PPRC plumbing has largely replaced galvanised iron pipe in new Pakistani housing. Dozens of pipe and fitting makers compete on price and pressure rating, and the same resin family is used for pipe and fittings so that socket fusion welds are reliable. Growth in housing societies and apartment buildings keeps PPRC demand steady year-round.
Common PPRC extrusion problems
- Low burst pressure: check the resin grade and wall thickness against your PN class; keep test records per lot.
- Rough inner surface: adjust melt temperature and vacuum sizing.
- Poor weld strength: use pipe and fittings from compatible PP-R grades and correct welding temperature (about 260 °C).
- Ovality: improve cooling length and haul-off stability.
Grade notes
PP-R MR230C – PP-R MR230C is a polypropylene random copolymer designed for hot and cold water supply systems and industrial water conveyance. It offers excellent creep properties and processability by both extrusion and injection moulding. Key strengths: excellent creep resistance, hot & cold water, long-term heat ageing. In Pakistan it is used for PPRC hot and cold water pipes and fittings.
PP-R ZR230C – PP-R ZR230C is a high-molecular-weight random copolymer for extrusion and compression moulding. Excellent heat resistance, superior toughness down to 0 °C and improved creep-rupture strength under internal pressure make it ideal for pressure, heating and underfloor pipes, domestic hot and cold water lines and weldable fittings. Key strengths: excellent heat resistance, high toughness to 0 °c, improved creep-rupture. In Pakistan it is used for PPRC pressure pipes for hot water and heating systems.
Supply to Pakistan
We ship PPRC granules from Iran in 25 kg bags on pallets (jumbo bags on request). Sea freight goes in 20′ and 40′ containers from Bandar Abbas to Karachi or Port Qasim; inland buyers can also receive trucks via Taftan. The shipping mode, route and Incoterm are agreed for each order, depending on quantity, destination and timing. Every shipment travels with a commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and the producer datasheet.

Frequently asked questions
What does PPRC mean?
PPRC (or PP-R) stands for polypropylene random copolymer, the material used for hot and cold water plumbing pipes.
Which PPRC grade should I use for PN20 pipe?
Both MR230C and ZR230C are pipe-extrusion grades; compare the hydrostatic data on the datasheets and ask us for the lot certificate for your pressure class.
Who produces PPRC in Iran?
MR230C is produced by Marun Petrochemical and ZR230C by Navid Zar Shimi.
Can I get samples for testing?
Yes, samples can be arranged for new customers before the first container order.
