Low density polyethylene (LDPE) is produced by high-pressure polymerisation and has long-chain branching, which gives excellent clarity, softness and easy processing. It is the preferred material for transparent packaging film, shrink film, laminations and extrusion coating.
Available grades: film grades LDPE 2119, LDPE 2420H, LDPE 2420E02, LDPE 0190, LDPE 020, LDPE 2102TX; heavy-duty film grades LDPE 0075 and LDPE 2100; and the injection grade LDPE 1922. Film grades are often blended with LLDPE to improve film strength while keeping good optics.

LDPE granules for film: what to know before you order
Low density polyethylene is soft, clear and easy to seal. Those three properties make it the default resin for shrink film, bread and garment bags, lamination layers and general packaging film. LDPE and LLDPE are counted together in trade statistics, and Pakistan imported around 326,000 tonnes of the two in 2023. There is no local polyethylene production, so the market depends on Gulf and Iranian supply.
We supply nine LDPE grades: six general and clear film grades with a melt flow around 2 g/10 min, two low-melt-flow grades for heavy-duty film, and one high-flow injection grade.

Which one fits your line
- Choose LDPE 2420H for thicker film (70 to 220 µm), shrink hoods and heavy-duty bags. It is additive-free, so you control slip and anti-block yourself.
- Choose LDPE 2119 when clarity and output matter more, for example thin bags for bakeries or textile shops.
- Both blend well with LLDPE 209 when you need more puncture resistance or a stronger seal.
LDPE, LLDPE or a blend?
LDPE gives clarity, gloss and a wide sealing window. LLDPE gives toughness and lets you run thinner. Most Pakistani film plants run a blend, often 20 to 40 percent LLDPE in LDPE, and change the ratio for each product. If your film tears too easily, add LLDPE. If the bubble is unstable or the film looks hazy, go back towards LDPE.
The film-grade subcategory has a longer guide with processing tips: LDPE film grade.
Where LDPE film goes in Pakistan
- Shrink film for beverage packs, cement-bag pallets and FMCG multipacks
- Lamination layers for snacks, tea, spices and biscuits
- Bread, bakery and garment bags
- Heavy-duty bags and liners
- Agricultural film, usually blended with LLDPE
Processing basics
- Melt temperature 160 to 200 °C for most blown film lines.
- Blow-up ratio around 2 to 3 for clear film; higher for shrink film so it shrinks evenly in both directions.
- Treat film to 38 to 42 dyn/cm if it will be printed or laminated.
- Add anti-block masterbatch for thin film that will be wound into tight rolls.
What to check on arrival
Check that the grade code on the bag matches the order, that the bags are dry and undamaged, and that the lot certificate shows melt flow and density in line with the datasheet. Keep a few kilograms from each lot until the film made from it has been accepted by your customer.
Ordering and delivery
Material leaves Iran in the producer’s original bags on pallets. Buyers in Pakistan can receive it by sea through Karachi or Port Qasim, or by road through Taftan. Route, packing and Incoterm are agreed order by order, because they depend on quantity, city and timing. Each shipment comes with a commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin.
For a rate, send the grade, the quantity and your city on WhatsApp or through the enquiry form. We reply within one business day.
Questions buyers ask
Is LDPE suitable for food packaging?
Our film grades, including the additive-free LDPE 2420E02 and LDPE 0190, are used for food packaging film. Ask us for the food-contact statement for the lot you are buying.
Can LDPE be used for injection moulding?
Yes. LDPE 1922 is a high-flow injection grade for toys and household items. The other LDPE grades are made for film; for stiffer injection parts, look at HDPE or PP injection grades.
Why is my shrink film tearing at the corners?
Often the blow-up ratio is too low, so the film shrinks unevenly. Raising the ratio, or adding a little LLDPE, usually helps.
