PC 0407 is prime, virgin polycarbonate dana in the producer’s bags, with the rate given CFR Karachi or for road delivery via Taftan.
PC 0407 – Extrusion & Sheet Grade
PC 0407 is a high-viscosity polycarbonate for solid and multi-wall sheet extrusion, UV stabilised for outdoor use.
- MFR 4 – 7 g/10 min 300 °C / 1.2 kg
- Density 1.20 g/cm³
- Process Sheet Extrusion
PC 0407: polycarbonate for solid and multiwall sheet
Sheet grades need high melt strength so the sheet does not sag between the die and the calibrator. PC 0407 has a low melt flow (4 to 7 g/10 min), light transmittance of at least 90 percent and UV stabilisation for outdoor use.
| Grade | Melt flow | Density (g/cm³) | Best for | Datasheet |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PC 0407 | MFR 4 – 7 300 °C / 1.2 kg | 1.20 | Solid and multiwall sheet, profiles | TDS PDF |
Where the sheet goes
- Skylights, walkway and parking canopies, awnings
- Greenhouse covering
- Glazing and safety panels
- Signboards and light boxes
- Extruded profiles
Extrusion notes
- Dry at 120 °C for about 4 hours before extrusion.
- Melt temperature 260 to 300 °C.
- For multiwall sheet, keep vacuum calibration even across the width so the ribs stay straight.
- Co-extrude a UV-protective layer for sheet meant for long outdoor life.
Full datasheet: PC 0407.
Reading the datasheet
Melt flow of 4 to 7 g/10 min at 300 °C and 1.2 kg gives the melt strength needed for sheet. Light transmittance of 90 percent or more matters for skylights and glazing. Notched Izod shows impact strength, which is why polycarbonate sheet is used where glass would break.
Sheet market in Pakistan
Polycarbonate sheet is used for parking and walkway canopies, factory skylights, greenhouses and signboards. Demand follows construction activity. Sheet makers compete on thickness tolerance, light transmission and UV protection, so a consistent resin from lot to lot is important.
Common sheet problems
- Bubbles in the sheet: moisture; check dryer dew point and time.
- Yellowing outdoors: missing or thin UV layer.
- Uneven ribs in multiwall sheet: calibrator vacuum and cooling not balanced.
Ordering and delivery
Material leaves Iran in the producer’s original bags on pallets. Buyers in Pakistan can receive it by sea through Karachi or Port Qasim, or by road through Taftan. Route, packing and Incoterm are agreed order by order, because they depend on quantity, city and timing. Each shipment comes with a commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin.
For a rate, send the grade, the quantity and your city on WhatsApp or through the enquiry form. We reply within one business day.
Questions buyers ask
Can PC 0407 be injection moulded?
It can be used for thick parts, but its flow is low. For injection, PC 1012 is easier.
Is a UV layer necessary?
For sheet that will stay outdoors for years, yes. The UV-stabilised resin helps, but a co-extruded UV layer gives much longer protection.
