Polycarbonate (PC) is a transparent engineering plastic with very high impact strength, heat resistance and dimensional stability. Rabin Polymer supplies PC grades for injection moulding and for sheet and profile extrusion.

PC Injection Moulding Grade · PC Extrusion & Sheet Grade

Available grades: PC 1012 and PC 0407.

Need a price? Send the grade, quantity and destination via WhatsApp +98 912 640 4020 or our enquiry form – we usually reply within one business day.
Both polycarbonate grades are prime, virgin dana in original producer bags, with the rate given CFR Karachi.

Polycarbonate granules: clear, tough and heat resistant

Polycarbonate is an engineering plastic. It is as clear as glass, many times tougher, and keeps its shape at temperatures that would soften PS or PP. Pakistan has no local polycarbonate production; imports were about 5,000 tonnes in 2023. The resin goes into solid and multiwall sheet for skylights, greenhouses and canopies, LED and lighting covers, electrical parts and moulded technical components.

The rule that matters most: dry it

Polycarbonate absorbs moisture from the air. If it is moulded or extruded wet, the water breaks the polymer chains, and parts come out with bubbles, silver streaks and low impact strength. Dry at about 120 °C for 3 to 4 hours in a dehumidifying dryer, then feed it straight into the machine.

Other points

  • Process hot: 280 to 320 °C for injection, 260 to 300 °C for sheet.
  • Both grades are UV stabilised. For sheet that stays outdoors for years, a co-extruded UV layer is still recommended.
  • Avoid contact with strong solvents and some cleaners, which can cause stress cracking.

Where polycarbonate goes in Pakistan

  • Solid and multiwall sheet for skylights, canopies, walkways and greenhouses
  • LED lighting covers, diffusers and housings
  • Electrical housings, switches and meter covers
  • Safety glazing and protective panels
  • Technical moulded parts

Building and lighting are the main drivers. Sheet makers in Lahore and Karachi supply the construction sector, while lighting assemblers need clear, UV-stable resin for covers and diffusers.

Reading a polycarbonate datasheet

Melt flow is measured at 300 °C and 1.2 kg. Lower values (4 to 7) suit sheet; higher values (10 to 12) suit injection. Check light transmittance for clear parts and notched Izod for impact. Heat deflection temperature for polycarbonate is far above that of PS or PP, which is why it is used near hot light sources.

Ordering and delivery

Material leaves Iran in the producer’s original bags on pallets. Buyers in Pakistan can receive it by sea through Karachi or Port Qasim, or by road through Taftan. Route, packing and Incoterm are agreed order by order, because they depend on quantity, city and timing. Each shipment comes with a commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin.

For a rate, send the grade, the quantity and your city on WhatsApp or through the enquiry form. We reply within one business day.

Questions buyers ask

Is your polycarbonate virgin material?

Yes. Both grades are prime material in producer bags with a datasheet and lot certificate.

Can I mix polycarbonate regrind with virgin?

Yes, in small amounts and only if the regrind is clean and dried. Too much regrind lowers impact strength and clarity.
