Masterbatch from Iran

Masterbatch is a concentrated mixture of pigments, fillers or additives dispersed in a thermoplastic carrier and supplied as granules. Converters add a small percentage of masterbatch to natural polymer at the machine hopper to colour the product or give it a specific property – UV resistance, slip, anti-block, anti-static or lower cost with mineral filler – without buying a pre-coloured or pre-modified resin.

Rabin Polymer supplies colour, white, black, filler and additive masterbatches from Iran, formulated for the customer’s polymer, process and end use. Masterbatch can be shipped in the same container as your polyethylene or polypropylene granules.

Carrier resins

Masterbatch must be compatible with the polymer it is added to. Carriers available on request include LDPE, LLDPE and HDPE (for film, bags, pipe and blow moulding), PP (for raffia, injection and fibre), PS, EVA and POE, and wax-based universal carriers.

How to order the right masterbatch

Send us five details and we will recommend a formulation and dosage:

1. Your polymer and grade (for example HDPE 5110 or PP HP550J)
2. Process – film, raffia, injection, blow moulding, pipe
3. Target colour (sample, RAL or Pantone) or the additive effect you need
4. End use – food contact, outdoor exposure, electrical
5. Monthly quantity

Supply and packing

• 25 kg bags on pallets; other packing on request
• Sea freight in 20′ / 40′ containers from Bandar Abbas (Karachi / Port Qasim and other ports) or delivery by truck
• Can be loaded together with polyethylene or polypropylene granules in one container
• Commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin with every shipment

The shipping mode, route and Incoterm are agreed for each order, depending on quantity, destination and timing.

Masterbatch for buyers in Pakistan

In Pakistan, calcium carbonate filler masterbatch is usually called calpet. Woven-sack plants also use UV masterbatch so bags left outdoors do not break down in the sun. Masterbatch is added to prime, virgin dana at the machine, and it can travel in the same container as your polyethylene or polypropylene. Rates are given CFR Karachi or for road delivery via Taftan.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between colour masterbatch and pre-coloured resin?

Masterbatch is added at 1–5 % to natural resin at your machine, so you can change colours quickly and buy one natural grade. Pre-coloured resin is coloured by the producer and is less flexible.

Can you match my colour?

Yes. Send a sample or a RAL / Pantone reference together with your polymer and process; the shade is matched before the order.

Which masterbatch is used for woven sacks?

Woven PP sacks usually use a calcium carbonate filler masterbatch to lower cost and improve printability, a UV stabiliser for outdoor storage, and white or colour masterbatch for the fabric.
